The Ministry of Health through the National TB Control Programme and the Centre for Social Research of the University of Malawi wishes to inform all its cooperating partners and the general public that it will carry out a nationwide Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey from June 2013 to March 2014. The major objective of this survey is to determine the prevalence of tuberculosis in Malawi. The survey is targeting persons aged 15 years and above. The results of this survey will be used to inform the design and implementation of relevant tuberculosis interventions as well as assess Malawi’s progress in the fight against tuberculosis. The teams from the Ministry of Health and the Centre for Social Research will be visiting sampled districts, Traditional Authorities and Enumeration Areas collecting data for this survey.
