The release of the album follows the Music4Life Festivals held in August 2014 across the 3 regions of the country, featuring performances by some of Malawi's finest musicians, to promote positive health behaviors through music.
The Moyo ndi Mpamba Music4Life album is a compilation of 15 songs, skillfully composed and produced to influence disease preventive and health seeking behaviors around malaria; maternal and child health; family planning; nutrition; water sanitation and hygiene as well as HIV/AIDS.
Artists featuring on the album include: Skeffa Chimoto, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Lulu, Mlaka Maliro, Katelele Ching'oma, Andiamo Music School Band, Lusubiro Band, Body Mind and Soul, Tiwonge Hango, Moses Makawa, Alex Kamonga, Simon and Kendal and Evans 'Watsopano' Meleka.
Key highlight of the album is an all-star song jointly composed and sang by all the artists featured on the album. A music video of the all-star song has been produced and is set to premiere on all TV stations in Malawi.
The music is currently enjoying airplay on radio stations and is available for free download on other Malawi's popular local music websites, www.malawi-music.com and the newly launched www.mvelani.com. The album has been distributed freely to district health agencies for use during local health outreach campaigns and is also available in selected music shops and leisure spots across the country.
